Mothers' Union is a worldwide Christian organisation with 4 million members living in 83 different countries. Members volunteer their time to promote marriage and family life; and to reach out to help those in their local community who feel isolated or in need.
It is an inclusive organisation not an exclusive one and in Spixworth there is a branch. We have been meeting monthly since September 1992 in the homes of members. Our meetings are prayer based but include a time for discussion about relevant and up-to-date issues. We meet on the second Wednesday in the month during the winter and in the evening during the summer months so members who work have the opportunity of coming to a meeting.
So what else do we do? We support couples being married in any of the churches in the benefice by sending them a card on their wedding day. Children who are baptised in Spixworth Church receive a card on the anniversary of that day until they are three years old and then they are invited
to come to Sunday Rocks. We attend Diocesan and Members day meetings and
support Women's World Day of Prayer. There are many other ways in which we help those less fortunate than ourselves. If you need further information please contact Win :Tel. 897259.
