Mission & Outreach
At the heart of the Bible is the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ, and so our Churches are not a 'private members club,' but places which seek to share God's message of love to the world outside our four walls.
We share God's message through how we live our lives, seeking to reflect Christ's care and concern for the local, national and international communities.
Locally
Many members of our congregation support, encourage and lead local community groups and charities. We are also connected to local schools and residential homes. But more importantly we share our lives with those who live around us in our local community.
We support a wide range of charitable organisations, locally, nationally, and internationally. St Peter's predominant local charity is 'Nelson's Journey,' an organisation which supports bereaved children.
Nationally
As part of the Church of England, our Parishes have a responsibility in sharing the work of the church in this country, supporting diocesan and national projects through prayer, time and financial giving.
We also support a number of national Christian charities, our main focus being the 'Children's Society', and 'Church Army.'
Our local MU group actively support a number of charitable organisations connected to the Mothers Union.
Internationally
As part of the wider Church we aim to support, and pray for our brothers and sisters in other countries. We support a range of international Christian charities and seek to promote their work within the Church, and wider community. One example of this is Christian Aid.
Our Reader, Win Sutton, recently travelled to Papua New Guinea, and since her visit we have formed strong links with the area and the Church community she visited.
